VOExplorer / Resource Menu

For a resource (or list of resources) selected in VOExplorer, this menu allows the user to interact with the resource(s) (e.g. sending a query to it), or view information on the resource(s), or export resource(s) information.

Query

Opens a dialogue that allows sending a query to the selected resource(s). For a SIAP or SSAP resource the query will be on position. Similarly for Cone Search resources. If you use the AstroScope interface and enter a name with more than one entry in SIMBAD, e.g. Virgo, then only one entry will be returned; you are advised to use a precise name or a position (check with [SIMBAD] directly if necessary) unless you intend to search a very large area.

For a STAP resource, the query will be on time range.

Build ADQL

For resources that accept ADQL queries, opens the Query Builder to allow visualisation of metadata for the resource and building a query.

Execute Task

Opens the task runner so that input (and output) parameters to the resource can be specified and a task sent to the resource for execution.

Web interface

Opens the web interface to the resource.

Download

Saves the resource (for those resources that can be downloaded eg catalogue tables).

Email curator

Allows sending an email to the curator of the resource.

Export summaries

Exports summary descriptions of the resource containing the information displayed by VOExplorer in the Information panel

Export as XML

Exports summary descriptions in XML format
